I Fakir Thongs danno vita alla loro esperienza musicale a
gennaio 2012. La loro musica si ispira allo stoner rock anni ’90 e allo space rock degli anni ’70 e unisce melodie orecchiabili e atmosfere psichedeliche in un sapiente zibaldone sonoro.

Nel 2013, esce il loro primo EP e proseguono un’intensa attività live che li porta a suonare fuori regione, a partecipare al Festival Collisioni di Barolo e ad aprire i concerti di band come Fast Animals And Slow Kids, Nadar Solo, Apres la Classe e Criminal Jokers.

Nel 2014, sotto l supervisione di Prozac dello studio Decibel di Sozzigalli (MO), iniziano le prime sessioni per la registrazione del loro primo album, che si concludono a settembre. A fine 2014, aprono il live dei tedeschi Zodiac e dei polacchi Tides From Nebula.

Il 2015 si apre con l'uscita del loro nuovo album, Habanero, e con l'arrivo di nuove date in giro per l'Italia, fra cui l'apertura ai Bastard Sons of Dioniso e l'inserimento nel festival di Udine Pietrasonica, già noto nella scena stoner rock italiana ed europea.

Nel 2016 proseguono la loro attività live e condividono il palco, in quel di Bologna, con i Void Of Sleep, band nota della scena stoner italiana.

Nel 2017, suonano al Soundart Festival di Bucarest, condivendo il palco con band come Exivious, Groove Therapist e SL Theory. A Modena, condividono il palco con i canadesi Zaum, e gli svedesi Firebreather. L'estate dello stesso anno, registrano i pezzi del nuovo album.

A febbraio 2018 esce il loro secondo full length, Lupex, naturale evoluzione del sound stoner della band, con qualche divagazione in più in territori di prog e psichedelici.

Nello stesso anno, partono per un tour in Europa dell'Est, che li porta a suonare in Croazia, Ungheria e Romania e a condvidere il palco con band come Stoned Jesus, Roadkill Soda e Methadone Skies. L'anno prosegue con l'apertura, a Bologna, del live della storica band space rock californiana. Farflung.

Fakir Thongs started their musical experience on January 2012 and, after a period of volcanic activity to compose their first repertoire, theystarted an intense live activity in the area of Modena. Their music is inspired by '90s Stoner Rock and '70s Space Rock and it combines catchy melodies and psychedelic atmosphere in a clever musical medley. On January 2013, they recordedtheir first EP with Omid Jazi's production at Hot Studio, in Modena. In 2013, thanks to an intense live activity, they took part to the Collisioni Festival, in Barolo and opened the concerts of bands like Fast Animals And Slow Kids, Nadar Solo, Apres la Classe and Criminal Jokers.

In 2014 and 2015, Fakir Thongs kept playing live concerts and opened for the German band Zodiac and the Polish band Tides Of Nebula. In 2015, they released their first full length album, Habanero.

In 2016 they kept playing live shows in Northern Italy and working on the songs that will part of their new album.

In 2017 they took part to the Soundart Festival, in Bucarest, sharing the stage with bands like Exivious, Groove Therapist e SL Theory. The same year, they started the recording sessions for the new album.

In 2018 they release their 2nd full length album, Lupex, that contains 10 new tracks and a new dose of stoner, psychedelic and progressive rock.

The same year, they tour Eastern Europe, playing live concerts in Croatia, Hungary and Romania and sharing the stage with Stoned Jesus, Roadkill Soda and Methadone Skies. On October, in Bologna, they open for the american space rock band Farflung.
